EA Sports College Football 25 returned to the field after 11 years away with the loftiest expectations possible, and then somehow surpassed them. Launching July 19, it is already the bestselling game of 2024. I suspect they may sell a couple of more copies now that college football season is here, and commercials for it will be everywhere.
Those of us that picked CFB 25 up at launch are beginning Season 2 of Ultimate Team and EA Sports has a deal for us. Every week, CFB 25 will feature one of the week's biggest games and give players an Ultimate Team pack. Log into the game and pick the Game of the Week's winner and claim a pack.
The week 1 Game of the Week is an in-state clash pitting the University of Miami Hurricanes against the University of Florida Gators. There's also a program that involves only slightly more work that awards three more packs. Look, we all know the drill here. These awards and challenges are to keep us logging into the game on a regular basis during the most competitive time in sports gaming.
Both CFB 25 and Madden 25 just launched. NBA 2K25 is hitting Sept. 4. For people that play other games beyond sports, both the Star Wars and Harry Potter franchises have new games coming out. Even if we mean to keep building that Ultimate Team, there are a million distractions.
Not to mention, there is that whole gaming/life balance thing I've heard about. But as far as log-in rewards go, these are not bad. You can do them during the eternal ad breaks in our favorite college games. Popping this many free packs a week, you're bound to eventually pull something good.
