Ding dong, the glitch is dead: Madden 25 custom stems finally fixed
By Brian Allen
Madden 25 is still far from a perfect game, but a new patch finally killed some of the game's biggest glitches. The first offender was an unintended speed boost to wide receivers after smart routed custom stems. EA's first attempt at nerfing it didn't work, but they let us know they were still at it.
The latest patch has done the trick, taking away some players' entire offense in the process. Another glitch I wrote about proved so annoying it was banned from tournaments. It provided an unintended speed boost on certain plays in which the quarterback rolled out. Mobile QBs are already one of the hardest things to defend in both Madden NFL and real football.
Here's the full list of fixes:
• Addressed the issue with Smart Routed Custom Stems resulting in a Speed Boost off the line at the snap
• Tuning to decrease the effectiveness of a specific QB-rollout speed boost exploit
• Addressed an issue preventing the Curl Flat zone depth coach adjustment from working properly when set at less than 15 yards
• Addressed an issue causing Curl Flat defenders to continue to drift away from an eligible receiving threat in close proximityAddressed an issue causing outside Deep Third defenders to get out of position when covering corner routes, or giving up too much cushion vs. corner routes.
• Addressed an issue in Squads causing the QB control to switch to a teammate at the snap
Defense in Madden was a struggle even before the stem glitch and QB rollout glitches were discovered, so these changes are welcome.
