Warcraft Movie Trailer Is Improved By Warcraft II Sound Effects
Well, maybe “improved” is a bit strong a word, but it’s darn funny. Some clever person took the trailer for the upcoming Warcraft movie, and covered over the sound for it with the music and sound effects from Warcraft II. The effect is, of course, ridiculous, because even if the sounds were completely appropriate for the game in its time, the contrast between the serious characters and ludicrous bird calls and “zug-zugs” is pure hilarity. Check it out:
Delightful. I’d love to see a version of this with World of Warcraft and Warcraft III sounds, too, including favorites such as “Something need doing?” and “Me not that kinda orc!”. My hope too is that the movie, despite its more serious plot, will feature nods to the sights, sounds, and experiences that Warcraft and World of Warcraft fans have come to love over the years.
The Warcraft movie premieres on June 10, 2016, and tells the story of the Frostwolf orcs as they flee from the Shadow Council, and their relationship with the humans of Stormwind led by King Llane Wrynn. Being a movie, it may not be exactly the same story Warcraft fans are familiar with, but we’ll see plenty of faces familiar to fans of the RTS games or the MMO such as Khadgar, Garona, Anduin, and Durotan.
