Blizzcon 2015’s opening ceremonies today included the debut of the Warcraft movie trailer, the eagerly-anticipated cinematic retelling of the original orc/human conflicts on Azeroth:

The trailer features plenty of familiar faces to those who know the lore, including Anduin Lothar (Travis Fimmel), Durotan (Toby Kebbell), and Garona. The Warcraft movie will tell a somewhat-altered version of the story of Frostwolf orcs as they flee from the Shadow Council, and their relationship with the humans of Stormwind led by King Llane Wrynn. The trailer puts a heavy emphasis on the striving of both sides for some kind of peace with the other as they overcome a common enemy, with characters such as Garona Halforcen (Paula Patton) who is, as her name implies, half-human/half-orc, caught in the middle of the conflict.

We’ll also see characters such as Khadgar (Alliance mage who played an important role in Warlords of Draenor recently), Medivh, Gul’dan (Shadow Council emissary and all-around bad guy), Orgrim Doomhammer, and many others who will be familiar to those who have played Warcraft or World of Warcraft, and locales such as Stormwind, Karazhan, and Dalaran. And, it looks like, some pretty exciting CGI of people jumping onto griffins in midair.

The Warcraft movie premieres on June 10, 2016.
