Looking at the stats, you’d think that the Eagles won this game easily. That is, until you saw the turnover stat. Philadelphia would have almost certainly won this game had it not been for their three turnovers that led to 17 of San Francisco’s points.
Philadelphia quarterback Nick Foles threw for 305 yards and running back LeSean McCoy added 94 on the ground as the Eagles had no trouble moving the football against the 49ers. Unfortunately, turnovers (and long 49ers returns after those turnovers) ultimately doomed the Eagles.
San Francisco quarterback Colin Kaepernick threw for only 94 yards, and the team finished with just 235 yards of offense in this game. The 49ers struggled to move the football for most of the game, but were surprisingly efficient at turning their rare chances into points.
