Hideo Kojima Talks Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes On PS4
PlayStation has had sitdown interviews with the creative minds and developers behind some of the great games to grace their gaming devices. It is now Hideo Kojima’s turn, as he sat down to discuss his upcoming Tactical Espionage Operations stealth game, Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes, for PlayStation’s Conversations With Creators.
While Mr. Kojima did retread on familiar grounds (Phantom Pain will be 200x bigger, Ground Zeroes acts as a prologue), he did also touch on the slight changes facilitated by being an open world game. The use of the iDROID device (personal electronics device that includes a digital map) or the radio will be utilized in active time. You will get shot at if you are spotted. Additionally, you can download an app for smartphones and tablets that lets you run both on your mobile devices to act as a second screen instead of bringing it up on your TV. Cassette tapes can also be listened to from your mobile device.
There is also discussion about playing the game differently to earn different rewards when playing through a mission multiple times over. Ground Zeroes may be short to breeze through, however it appears that a lot of the hidden collectibles and special moments that come standard with a Kojima game will be present if you deviate from how you play through the first time.
Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes will be coming out on the PS4, Xbox One, PS3 and Xbox 360 on March 18th. Check out the full video with Hideo Kojima below.
