Metal Gear V: Ground Zeroes Release Date Is March 18, 2014
It is very odd that with the reveal of an Xbox-exclusive mission, “Jamais Vu,” that we have the official reveal for the Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes release date. It is March 18, 2014, and the game will be released on Xbox One, PS4, PS3 and Xbox 360.
That exclusive mission, by the way, has you infiltrate an enemy base full of body-snatchers. Your job is to eliminate any and all threats. Did I forget to mention you play as RAIDEN, from Metal Gear Solid 2, 4 and Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance fame?
Jamais Vu is a very fitting term, as it is considered the opposite of Deja Vu, which is also the name of the Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes exclusive mission for the PS4 and PlayStation 3. However, I would argue that Xbox fans got the better exclusive mission this time around, as having a PS1-era Snake head doing what appears to be an action-oriented version of the Shadow Moses incident seems a lot less fun than a completely-new mission featuring a separate character altogether.
Either way, we finally know what Spring 2014 means for certain developers. While “winter” means the last day before Spring for Square Enix and Final Fantasy X and X-2, it also means March 18 for Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes. It will be released on the Xbox One, PS4, Xbox 360 and PS3. Here is the trailer for the Jamais Vu mission:
