Amazon Also Sold Out Of PS4, Xbox One Day 1 Pre-Orders

It seems like every major retailer is closing up on their console pre-orders, with Amazon being the latest to do so. Yes, Best Buy is sold out of Xbox One pre-orders, GameStop has closed down their PS4 pre-orders and now Amazon seems to be all out of Day 1 console pre-orders for both consoles. At least, according to the Amazon Video Games Facebook page.

"After a crazy and exciting month, we’ve sold through our initial allocations of PS4 and Xbox One. Thank you to all who have ordered and shared your opinions. We have the Standard Editions for both consoles still available, but we can’t guarantee these at release. Please check back here as we’ll update you first if we receive further release day allocations."

It appears that you can still pre-order either console, but Amazon might not ship your system by each company’s launch days. How much time it will take for Amazon to ship the PS4 and Xbox One beyond the initial release dates remains to be seen, but hopefully it won’t go deep into the holiday season. It would be a major shame if family members or dedicated console purchasers can’t get their desired game system by Christmas due to a shortage in supply, so lets cross our fingers and hope for the best.
