Shovel Knight Release Date Delayed ‘A Few Weeks’

In a move that has got to be disappointing to the game’s indie developers, Shovel Knight will, unfortunately, be delayed by “A few weeks.” This is according to an update on the game’s Kickstarter project page, indicating that they want to make sure the game is polished and is running without error on all platforms.

I’m not sure how dialogue hasn’t been finalized just a few weeks before the initial proposed release date of March 31st (announced over a month ago), but here we are. This is to be the young company’s first game under their belts after forming Yacht Club Games back in 2011, so it is understandable that there were unforeseen obstacles in the way of getting Shovel Knight released and out to the public. Still, if the developers can get the game out the door by the end of April they will find themselves free of a larger marketplace of new AAA games; a stark contrast from a March release.

Shovel Knight will be released on the PC, Nintendo Wii U and 3DS when it does come out. Expect a concrete date sometime over the next couple of weeks.
