Tired of all the system instability for your new PS4? It’s just the 5th day into the launch of Sony’s newest console, and already we can expect a software update to come very shortly.

Posted on the PlayStation blog is news that PS4 update 1.51 will be released later tonight. Its goal is to increase system stability, make minor improvements to the UI (indications on downloading a game and game patches have been noted), as well as some region-specific upgrades. For North America, this includes automatic game and system downloads being set as the default mode when the PS4 is in standby mode, allowing for more consoles to become updated as soon as possible.

Perhaps some of these changes will fix some of the problems the console has been having. Still, with so many reports of game crashes and red lights it is at least reassuring that the PS4 failure rate is less than 1 per cent at the moment. We’ll see if this system update makes any notable improvements to fixing the console’s errors as it goes live.
