The 50 Best Xbox One Games Right Now
Best Xbox One Games List – #28 Ryse: Son of Rome
Developer: Crytek Frankfurt
Publisher: Microsoft Studios
Xbox One Release Date: November 22, 2013
Something that the Xbox One brought to the table right from launch was intriguing exclusive titles, and with a bit of help from Crytek, the jump in graphical fidelity was quite evident. Ryse: Son of Rome proved that you could have these grand set pieces in a linear hack-and-slash adventure game while showcasing new gameplay elements that couldn’t be done before.
Playing as Marius Titus, you act as a Roman general throughout the ups and downs of a tumultuous life. Using the Kinect, you can voice and motion commands to your troops in combat while you engaged in the literally visceral action yourself. Reduced in prominence since its initial showing, QTE finishers brought down enemies in a gruesome fashion, reminiscent to a Gladiator film. Later shining on the PC, Ryse was displayed as a prominent example of what the future of the generation could be like from Day 1.
