Best PS4 Games List – #3 Dragon Age: Inquisition

Developer: BioWare

Publisher: Electronic Arts

PS4 Release Date: November 18, 2014

Perhaps the consensus Game of the Year for 2014, Dragon Age: Inquisition made everyone forget the previous title in the series was a dud simply by filling an enigmatic world with boatloads of content. You play as a generated character who fills out the request of the Divine’s last order to establish an Inquisition. The goal is to close the rifts generated during a peace conference that opened the beginning of the game, sealing off the Breach for good and bringing justice to those who have perished by defeating the evil forces behind such an intrusion.

Perhaps the reason people are so taken to Inquisition is because of the role playing the Inquisitor provides. You can cast judgment down across the lands with your dialogue and action choices, bringing peace and atonement to lands aplenty. The game tailors to how you play, including equipment changing to fit the player’s race and gender. So, too, do the romance options, with close to a dozen characters to engage intimately with, both sexually and non-sexually.

Of course, the most important aspect outside of the story is the gameplay. Dragon Age: Inquisition is broken up into sections, some of which are larger than Dragon Age II. Explore the land to overtake keeps and forts, pause combat to strategize your squad’s abilities and implement them in live action combat. The deep RPG systems for character progression, the illustrious, varying landscapes at hand and the series’ best writing culminates in one of next-gen’s most popular RPG’s available.
