When it comes to vehicle simulation, dedicated racing fans know what they want. Whether it be trucking or racing, the hardcore base knows what they want best. That’s why Slightly Mad Studios sought out their own specialized crowdfunding to bring a legitimacy towards racing games, a genre that has decidedly shifted towards an arcade slant in order to appeal to a wider audience. They did so with Project CARS, with a little help from Bandai Namco to get the word out.

Project CARS decided to let the racing kids play out to their heart’s content. Without locking out content through progression, players experience most of the full toolset from the get-go. With over 74 cars, 30 unique locations and 110+ courses, there’s a lot to experience right away. The addition of dynamic weather brings changes to both lighting and driving physics, and help stamp Project CARS as one of the best ways to play a legitimate racer on the PS4.
