WWE 2K24's Global Superstars Pack may be its best DLC
By Brian Allen
After a DLC that almost no one wanted, this week's Global Superstars Pack just might be the best of the bunch. Releasing on Sept. 18, the pack includes Carlito, Jade Cargill, Nia Jax, Michelle McCool, Kairi Saine, Lyra Valkyria, and Dragon Lee.
Carlito has made the most of his latest run with the company, admitting some of the mistakes he made his first time around. A few years ago, it seemed like even getting him in the game as a legend might be too much to ask. Time heals at least a few of pro wrestling's wounds.
Jade Cargill's entrance in the game looks incredible, so much so that it was the first one WWE 2K used to promote the upcoming DLC:
Jade is such a stunning, powerful, intimidating presence and I can't wait to see her in the game. A storm is indeed coming.
In contrast, fans didn't seem as impressed with Nia Jax's intro. She won the Queen of the Ring tournament recently, so her gimmick and entrance have changed a little bit. The Queen responded to the haters, tongue-in-cheek fashion:
Michelle McCool is making her seventh appearance in a WWE game, but the first since WWE 12. I loved her and Layla's "Mean Girls" routine as Laycool back in the day. This is on pace to be my favorite roster in a WWE game ever, even after the complete punt (pun intended) they did with the McAfee DLC.
Kairi Saine returns to WWE games for the first time since the ill-fated WWE 2K20. If you remember that one was so glitchy that WWE skipped a year and released WWE 2K Battlegrounds - man, this series was spiraling downward for a while.
But the "Pirate Princess" is back, with her entrance from the 2024 Royal Rumble. It looks really good as well.
WWE 2K24 also decided to give Lyra Valkyria entrance because it looks incredible as well:
People were understandably upset that the former NXT Women's Champion wasn't on the roster at launch. But in a couple of days she'll be here, and I am definitely feeling Valkyrie Vibes.
Dragon Lee was another competitor I was ready to use at launch, but better late than never. In one of my favorite details teased so far, Lee will be able to lower his kneepad before delivering a devastating knee strike.
The Global Superstars Pack is included with the Season Pass, or $9.99 if purchased separately.
