I did not have this one on my October bingo card. Smash wrestling hit WWE 2K24 will be a free PlayStation Plus game during the month of October. The game launched in March, so I guess it's time. Publishers generally release their sports games on services such as PS Plus after the height of their seasons, assuming everyone that was going to pay full price has done so.

WWE runs year round and doesn't have a traditional "season" so to speak. But November's Survivor Series is the last of WWE's big pay-per-views and its final DLC, the WCW Pack, drops in November. That makes this as good a place to call WWE 2K24's season as any.

If you have PlayStation Plus and like WWE at all, let me encourage you to download this one. The gameplay and roster are the best they have been in years. The Wrestlemania Showcases are a lot of fun and they unlock legends such as Ravishing Rick Rude and Ricky "The Dragon" Steamboat.

GM mode will steal more hours from you than you realize. Every fan I know thinks they can run a wrestling company better than Triple H or Tony Khan, here's your chance to step up and prove it.

I'm going to ask the WWE 2K Online community to be as welcoming as possible to this new influx of players. We all want people to enjoy the game and keep playing it, right?

All in all, October looks a good month for PlayStation Plus Subscribers. The other games are the PS5 remaster of horror classic Dead Space (it's October after all) and Doki Doki Literature Club.
