Juan Gonzalez was one of the most devastating hitters in the 1990s. During his 13 season stretch with the Texas Rangers, Gonzalez batted .293/.342/.565 with a 133 OPS+. Gonzalez had 339 home runs during the 1990s, the 5th most during the decade, trailing just Mark McGwire, Ken Griffey Jr., Barry Bonds, and Albert Belle. He was also one of six players with 1000+ RBI during the ‘90s. Gonzalez had five 40+ homer seasons, two MVPs, five Silver Sluggers, and two All-Star appearances.

An Awards series or Retro Finest card would probably be the best option for Juan Gonzalez. His 1996 MVP season would be best, as he hit .314/.368/.643 with 47 home runs. A Juan Gonzalez card is going to have great hitting attributes with 110+ power/contact vs LHP and RHP. Plus he’ll have good plate vision. But he won’t have good fielding or speed. I think a Juan Gone card would look something like Gary Sheffield’s card in MLB The Show 20; outstanding hitting attributes with a strong arm, but a bronze fielding badge (maybe silver at the best).
