The off-season was truly historic when it came to the top talent available via free agency and trade. The Los Angeles Dodgers won most of the headlines by penning both Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto to mega deals, but the Yankees made its biggest splash acquisition in quite some time by trading for Juan Soto. All the talk of "Yamasoto" never came to fruition, but it can't be understated how big of a trade the Yankees pulled off. Yes, Soto is set to hit free agency at the end of the 2024 season, but the top of the lineup is terrifying.

Soto was one of six Diamonds on the San Diego Padres, though he was also one of five at 85 rated on the team. Soto played in all 162 games for the Padres leading the NL in walks for the third time in his career. As well, he posted a career-best 36 home runs. Soto isn't going to be the highest rated Yankee with Cole and Judge on the team, but he'll be in the top five of the AL East easily.
