The MLB All-Star Game and all its festivities have arrived, ushering in a plethora of new MLB The Show 24 content. Chapter 2 of Season 2 Team Affinity features All-Stars including Chicago White Sox hurler Garrett Crochet and New York Yankees slugger Juan Soto. The Show introduced the concept of seasons to Diamond Dynasty in last year's game. Even with thousands of cards available, competitive players quickly discover what's best. After a week, most squads are carbon copies. After around 12 weeks, a new "season" begins and some cards are no longer allowed. It mirrors the concept of standard rotation used in card games such as Magic: The Gathering.

A brand new card series, Future Skills Showcase, will give collectors seven new free players. Even if the players don't turn out to be game changers, nobody is arguing with free. More future stars of the diamond appear in the MLB Draft series that debuted in 2023. Pittsburgh Pirates phenom Paul Skenes headlined the first release, and his card proved a true glimpse of his bright future. A new Conquest map offers Draft Packs as rewards and listen up, grinders: the map is repeatable!

Pitching is great. New rookies are great. But sometimes we watch to see the ball leave the yard, and that's what the Home Run Derby players are for. All the participants will appear in Home Run Derby Packs with special love given to champion Teoscar Hernandez and runner-up Bobby Witt Jr.

An All-Star Game Choice Pack will honor the best players in the world, including the game's MVP. It will appear in the in-game shop and as a collection reward. One of these guys will likely be a mainstay for a team's cleanup spot, as well as a candidate for the wildcard slot in future seasons. Remember those card restrictions I talked about? When a season changes, players get to put a player from a previous campaign into a wildcard spot. It allows you to keep using that guy you don't want to play without.

Two new programs add stars from the present and past to the game. A special All-Star Game program gives MLB The Show players a chance to win a Choice Pack with rare cards from the MLB Draft, Home Run Derby, and All-Star Game. A new evolution program celebrates brand new Hall of Famers Joe Mauer, Adrian Beltre, and Todd Helton. Completing their evolutions will add 99 overall versions of the legends to your lineup.
