Madden 25 Mobile is a different kind of pocket presence

If you have a device of any kind, Madden NFL will find you. Madden NFL 25 Mobile is live on iOS and Android devices and while a lot of your progress from previous years will transfer, there are a few new wrinkles. Get your clipboard (or Microsoft Surface tablet) and let's get into it!

Players' Madden Cash balances transfer over. As a console player, that makes me a little jealous. Coin and league tokens don't make the transitiion. Training points, weights, headsets, bronze/silver/gold level tokens, and coaches are no longer part of Madden Mobile. While coaches are gone, EA Sports promises there will be some "exciting changes to playbooks."

All Madden 24 players, except starter rarity, will transfer over with slightly tweaked ratings. You'll earn better players soon enough, but this will at least give you a starting point. I'm definitely seeing a theme. EA appears to have learned that the mobile player isn't too enthused about starting the whole game over annually. I'm not about to start a casual vs. hardcore gamer debate here, but this is interesting to see.

Perhaps the most exciting new change is the ability to create your own playbook. Every player will start the season with the same base playbooks and a pre-selected extended playbook. The extended can be further customized with new plays as you stay under an assigned budget. Your playbook budget increases as your player level does. Veteran coaches will have some advantages, as they do in real life. You'll unlock new plays through events, the field pass, or from the in-game store.

Players from Madden Mobile 24 are no doubt wondering how they'll level up players since so many things have changed. Season Team Training is the new currency for that, and players can earn it through in-game rewards. Team Training rank milestones can be traded in for higher overall players.
