Madden 25 dropped a free 85 Tim Tebow card
By Brian Allen
Josh Allen just got serious competition at his QB spot for No Money Spent teams. EA is celebrating the start of college football season and all the money it is rolling around in from CFB 25 in Madden's Campus Heroes program. These guys were heroes for their college squads before making the jump to the NFL.
Nobody was more of a campus legend than former Florida Gator quarterback Tim Tebow. He was significantly less good at both pro football and pro baseball, but he's still an incredibly popular player. He's a good guy who is likely always to going to sign EA's licensing deal. You may remember Madden 13 added his signature gesture of kneeling after a touchdown, which came to be known as "Tebowing."
You get a free 79 Tebow just for logging into MUT and can unlock or purchase stickers that can raise his overall to a respectable 85. A fully-powered up Tebow boasts 83 speed and 83 throw power. At 6'3 and 255 lbs. he is a walking truck stick. In many ways, Tebow was born to be a video game athlete.
His deep accuracy is only a 79, but you know what you're signing up for when you put Tebow in at QB. You're using him for read options, RPOs and all but unstoppable QB sneaks. Besides, with Madden's defense in its current state, almost any signal caller can put up 300-yard games.
For a free card with good mobility, this doesn't seem bad. His main competition at the position right now will be budget beast Anthony Richardson and the more expensive Josh Allen. I've been using Richardson in the Baltimore Ravens offense, because I love running with my quarterback. I've been content enough with Richardson to not pay up for Allen.
Plus, I like Richardson's size for sneaks and power runs. Tebow may even be better for those. I'm going to give him a try this weekend and I'll report my findings.
