It is officially Madden season, football and virtual football fans. Madden 25's early access period began Aug. 13 for players who preordered the Deluxe Edition or MVP Bundle. Its official launch is Aug. 16, beginning with kickoff Aug. 15 at 11 p.m. CT. Not everybody buys Madden every year, and EA is fully aware of this. EA Play's 10-hour trial helps you decide if this a year they will get your hard-earned money.

EA Play subscribers can now play a 10-hour free trial of Madden 25. Progress in all modes including Superstar, Ultimate Team, and Franchise will carry over if you decide to purchase the full game. Remember, any time that game is open your 10-hour clock is running. This is easy to forget if you pause for a bathroom break.

Ten hours seems like a lot, but one game online head-to-head game of Madden is about 30 minutes. Don't even get me started on Ultimate Team. Veterans know you can spend hours obsessing over whether an 80 overall cornerback with a good ability is better than an 82 overall with no special ability.

An EA Play Membership is $5.99 per month or $39.99 annually. In addition to game trials, players can unlock in-game rewards such as exclusive packs for EA's various Ultimate Team game modes. The Play List is a library of EA's biggest hits (including Madden games) that members have unlimited access to. Members get a 10 percent on digital purchases of EA's games, season packs, points packs, and DLC.

You may want to set yourself some sort of reminder to cancel the membership. EA is hoping you don't remember to. According to C+R Research, about 42 percent of consumers they polled have subscriptions they meant to cancel but forgot about.
