The best players in the world are about to battle to determine the absolute best, and the rest of us MUT players can benefit too. You can unlock powerful players just by watching the Madden Championship series action on Twitch.

On Sept. 4 on at 6 p.m. ET on Twitch, tune in for the MCS broadcast. You'll need to have Twitch drops enabled on your account. This first event will award an 83 version of New York Jets star wide receiver Garrett Wilson. Many of these MCS cards, including Tariq Woolen and Micah Parsons, turned out to be dawgs for the squads that earned them.

There will be six MCS events, with each one offering a MUT reward for dedicated viewers. Earn all six athletes, and you'll earn a special card in February. A lot of people have dipped out of the mode and Madden by then, so this is a reward for the diehards. Also, the game will likely be free on multiple platforms soon after that.

I'm not saying you should use your new cards to pound on unsuspecting new players. I'm saying there are some flaws in EA's matchmaking and you will inevitably end up using your super squad to pound on new players. Here's the schedule for competitive events:

  • September 4: Ultimate Kickoff (6 PM ET)
  • September 10-11: Kickoff Challenge
  • October 23: Most Feared
  • November 13: Unstoppable
  • December 18: Zero Chill
  • February 7: Madden Bowl

You can also add cards to your team by playing in the MCS. You get a MUT pack for each ladder that you play at least one ladder game in, up to a maximum of six. Even if you think you stand no chance, free packs are free packs. There's no reason not to take advantage of them. And hey, you might win more games on the ladder than you think you would.
