The hype for EA Sports College Football has been everything we expected, and one of its most anticipated features is ready in time for the game's official launch. The Team Builder tool debuted in NCAA Football 09, allowing players to create their own fictitious university and change the college sports landscape. EA Sports promised us it would return, but has been light on details until now. An EA blog post gives a deep dive into the rebirth of the beloved feature.

The passion and creativity of fans has been front and center during this decade-long hiatus, and it hasn't gone unnoticed. EA revealed it has hired some of the creators in the Team Builder community to help design the updated version. The publisher also announced Chris Markuck, who helped create Team Builder, is back in the fold as a senior engineer. It feels like a veteran coach returning to lead his alma mater to glory in a new era.

EA said it used three pillars to resurrect Team Builder: a deep creation suite, the ability to discover and share these creations, and a plan to elevate the best creators. The brand creation elements are very detailed, allowing you to choose primary, secondary and tertiary logos.

Creators will have access to three different clothing brands: Nike, Under Armour, and Adidas as well as their unique characteristics including jersey stitches. You'll have up to five uniform presets customizable down to the socks. All three brands have committed to releasing content updates throughout the year. Who knew EA's slogan "If it's in the game, it's in the game" applied to sweat socks?

Stadium creation is a little more limited. Rather than creating new stadiums from scratch, players must use one of the game's existing 134 stadiums as the base. There's still a lot to work with, including the ability to customize the playing surface, on-field numbers, and the color scheme for the goal line.

It will be easy to spend hours with this feature before ever seeing the field. EA Sports College Football 25 is available now, and all is right in the world.
