Breece Hall's Madden likeness is so bad Sauce Gardner is roasting EA for it

EA is at it again. Now it's their interpretation of Breece Hall that is drawing ridicule.

New Madden avatar, who dis? Pointing out which NFL players look nothing like Madden says they look is as much an annual rite of passage as disputing ratings or changing playbooks. It was just a couple of days ago when we talked about Marvin Harrison, Jr. Now Breece Hall's football game likeness (and I use that term as loosely as possible) is in the limelight for all the wrong reasons.

That looks like an old man ready to play football in some sort of Damon Wayans led comedy. Necessary Roughness 2, anyone? Hall's New York Jets teammate had some fun at his expense because of how bad this looks. Sure there are some guys you can phone in, and the lack of resemblance wouldn't even warrant a blog post.

You would think at minimum the main starting offensive players, such as the running back, would be a priority. Certainly the starting running back for the New York Jets should be. What did they think? That nobody was going to notice they replaced one of the league's most talented young running backs in the most well-covered city in sports with the avatar of a 50-year-old man?

As I mentioned in my review, I'm having fun playing Madden. But stuff like this is ridiculous. One of my own journalism professors referred to mistakes as "a thumb in the reader's eye." EA Sports has been poking us in the eye with these bad looking avatars for decades now.

The first week of every Madden launch is filled with these stories, and as new players enter the game more of these stories will crop up. There are rumors that the NFL is contemplating whether exclusivity with EA is still a good idea. Surely somebody at NFL HQ is noticing all these mistakes, right? Right?
