Nintendo Selects brings old favorites back to retail at lower prices.

The Wii U and Nintendo 3DS’s libraries boast impressive libraries, given their backwards compatibility with the Wii and the DS, respectively. If you’re currently lamenting that there are few to no impressive titles coming up for release on either system, you may find yourself wanting to replay old favorites, or try out popular games you missed the first time around. According to Polygon, Nintendo is about to offer a cheaper way to do this with its new Nintendo Selects line.

Various Wii, Wii U, and Nintendo 3DS titles will be offered as Nintendo Selects titles for $19.99, a significant discount from the original prices, especially on those Wii U titles. For some titles, this will be a godsend–games like Ocarina of Time 3D and Pikmin 3 are difficult to find retail copies of anymore, and may fetch a higher-than-retail price on Amazon if you don’t want a download copy.

Multiple “waves” of these Nintendo Selects are planned, but the first wave will include:

  • Super Mario Galaxy 2
  • Super Mario 3D World
  • The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
  • Animal Crossing: City Folk
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns
  • Super Mario All-Stars
  • Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze
  • Pikmin 3
  • NES Remix Pack
  • Yoshi’s New Island
  • Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D
  • Mario Party: Island Tour

Nintendo Selects will begin appearing in stores as such on March 11, so keep an eye out if you intend to add one of these old favorites to your collection.
