Throwback Doom games, which are already available on Xbox One, will act as free throw-ins for the upcoming Bethesda release of Doom.
Another sequel in a long-running video game series, another exclusive offer for Xbox One pre-orders. As detailed on the Xbox Store, pre-orders for the Xbox One version of Bethesda’s upcoming Doom will net you Doom 1 and Doom 2, as part of the platform’s Backwards Compatibility services.
Delivered to you within 7-10 days of purchase, the offer gives you historical context for the series before the upcoming game is released on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. It will also let players get a feel for a first-person shooter that acts inherently more floaty and fast paced than they are used to, if most their time is spent playing online shooters of today.
Additional benefits from pre-ordering Doom include the previously-mentioned Demon Multiplayer Pack. It comes with a unique Demon-themed armor set, packed with three skin variations, six Hack Modules, six metallic paint colors and three of the id logo patterns, which can be applied to weapons and armor.
While the rest of the world waits for the new Doom to be released on May 13, the chance to take a trip down memory lane on the Xbox One might be enough to entice those pre-orders.
