Kansas City Chiefs (17) at Denver Broncos (36)

Kansas City absolutely could not get anything going early in this game. Their first three drives produced seven total yards. Their defense kept them in it early, but a couple of big plays by Denver threatened to break this game open.

Midway through the second quarter, Charcandrick West and the running game finally got going, and KC’s offense finally started rolling. The problem was that every time the Chiefs scored, the Broncos answered.

That trend continued through the third quarter as well. Denver entered the fourth quarter with a 10-point lead. That was when the wheels finally came off for the Chiefs.

Two Alex Smith interceptions sealed this one away for Denver. The Broncos turned them into nine points (with a missed extra point). The game ended with Peyton Manning taking a knee at the Kansas City five-yard line.

Manning was brilliant in this one, completing 27 of 33 passes for 301 yard and three touchdowns. The Chiefs sacked him four times, or that stat line would have likely been even ever.

Denver now heads to the AFC Championship Game.
