Madden 16 Simulation: The NFL Playoffs
By Keith Myers
Green Bay Packers (29) at Arizona Cardinals (26)
The first half of this game was a strange one. Both teams missed an extra point, and both teams got inside the red zone on another drive and didn’t get any points.
The Packers got their second TD on a 27 yard run on 4th and 1 by FB John Kuhn. Yep, the first half was weird.
The weirdness settled down in the third quarter. Both teams put together long scoring drives that ate up the clock. Arizona punched their’s into the end zone, while Green Bay was stopped inside the five and settled for a field goal.
The game was tied at 16 going into the fourth quarter. A Carson Palmer interception gave the Packers quick three-point lead. Arizona then scored 10 straight and got a defensive stop.
Up 7 with ball and time winding down, Carson Palmer threw his third pick of the game, giving Green Bay new life. The Packers turned that turnover into a TD, and the game headed to overtime.
The extra period was nearly as interesting as regulation. A quick three-and-out by the Packers set up Arizona with good field position, but John Brown fumbled on an end-around on the first play by the Cardinals.
The Packers recovered. Two quick pass competitions later, they kicked the game-winning field goal.
The fifth-seeded Packers now head home to host the sixth-seeded Seahawks for the right to head to the Super Bowl.
