The 50 Best Star Wars Games Of All Time

#5 – Star Wars Jedi Knight: Dark Forces II
Developer: LucasArts
Publisher: LucasArts
Release Date: September 30, 1997
After the success of the first Dark Forces game, Dark Forces II elevated the series to the next level, featuring a story exploring main character Kyle Katarn’s journey as he confronted his father’s killers.
Kyle’s ability to use a lightsaber and force powers were brand-new features, while the game retained the series’ excellent level design. Taking advantage of a new game engine which allowed for improved graphics over its predecessor, Dark Forces II also added a multiplayer mode for the first time, in which up to 32 people could compete over the internet.
Dark Forces II currently holds a Metacritic score of 91/100. It doesn’t hold up as well as it used to these days due to graphical advances over time, but that doesn’t prevent Dark Forces II from being one of the very best Star Wars games ever made.
