#18 – Star Wars: Starfighter
Developer: LucasArts
Publisher: LucasArts
Release Date: February 19, 2001
Star Wars: Starfighter was one of many Episode I spin-offs, although this one arrived two years after the film’s release.
The game was centered around a story that took place immediately before the Battle Of Naboo and put the player in control of a variety of spaceships throughout a series of missions. Excellent, in-depth flying mechanics propelled Starfighter’s success, and even led to a future sequel in the form of Star Wars: Jedi Starfighter.
Critics were pleasantly surprised, praising the game heavily. The game holds an 84/100 rating on Metacritic (PlayStation 2).
