#21 – Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back (Atari 2600)

A classic Star Wars game from 1982, this title focused on the Battle Of Hoth from Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back, as players were tasked with battling AT-AT walkers in a snowspeeder.
While the game lacked detail in its graphical department, it made up for this with exciting and fast-paced gameplay. A particular highlight came in the form of an invincibility power which came into effect periodically, with the game’s audio subsequently launching into a 8-bit version of the classic Star Wars theme.
Generally considered as the best Star Wars game on the Atari 2600, this one falls just short of our top 20.
