#22 – Star Wars: Republic Commando

Developer: LucasArts

Publisher: LucasArts

Release Date: February 28, 2005

Released in 2005, Republic Commando was an ambitious take on the life of a Clone Commando team. A tactical first-person shooter, Commando offered a very different style to the majority of Star Wars games that had come before it.

Featuring a co-op inspired campaign (albeit a purely single-player experience), the game required players to utilize teamwork with their allies in order to succeed. Despite a fun and interesting set of missions, the game’s campaign was short, while its multiplayer element felt a little tacked on. Notably, Republic Commando was also the very first Star Wars series to introduce licensed music.

Republic Commando is fondly remembered for its unique take on the Star Wars franchise.
