#27 – Star Wars: Shadows Of The Empire

Shadows Of The Empire is seen by many as a cult classic; an early N64 gem which actually sold in high numbers back in 1996 & 1997.

The game was part of a unique project of the same name, as LucasFilm attempted to tell a brand new story via the medium of games, reading material and more. It was centered around the character of Dash Rendar and took place between the events of The Empire Strikes Back and Return Of The Jedi.

Shadows Of The Empire is best remembered for its much-praised first level, in which players were tasked with playing through the Battle Of Hoth sequence from The Empire Strikes Back.

For a game that was essentially part of an experiment, Shadows Of The Empire surprised many, and it has subsequently left a lasting legacy on the video game industry.
