Star Wars Galaxies was the first foray into the MMO world for Star Wars as Sony Online Entertainment unveiled this ambitious title.

The game’s servers lasted eight years as Galaxies developed a cult following, thanks to the game’s expansive world size, customization features, excellent graphics, and complex skill system, among other features.

Future updates ruined the game in the view of many, dramatically reducing the difficulty and complexity of the game to combat the falling number of subscribers. While the game did eventually shut down, Galaxies retained a passionate following until the very end.
