Since its beginnings with The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead, Telltale Games has taken on a multitude of different stories from various IPs. With Game of Thrones and Tales from the Borderlands wrapped up, Telltale announced at The Game Awards this evening that its next new story would take us to Gotham City, for an adventure with the caped crusader himself: Batman.

Telltale will partner with Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment and DC Entertainment to bring us an episode adventure based on the Batman comics, and it’s coming in 2016. The full title of the game has yet to be revealed. Like other Telltale titles, it is surely going to be a choice-based game with some action and exploration sequences, with a heavy focus on story. It will be available on PC, Mac, mobile, and platforms, like other Telltale games.

There’s very little available in terms of what story this game might tell, but Telltale’s blog gives some vague clues:

"At Telltale, we’ve been honored to bring our unique approach to interactive storytelling to some of the biggest entertainment franchises in the world, and we’re excited to announce that we’ll soon be exploring what it means to be Batman in an all-new series starting next year. This iteration of Batman will give fans a first-hand opportunity to dive deeper into the complex life and mind of Bruce Wayne, the duality of his own identity, and the struggle of responsibility in saving a city overcome with corruption and villainy."

The teaser shown at the Game Awards will not be available online until later his week, though in terms of details, you’re not missing much. There’s no gameplay shown, just some hype-inducing voiceovers and cool art.
