37 – PokePark 2: Wonders Beyond (Nintendo Wii U)

It’s tough to classify the Pokepark games–though the original was mostly a series of minigames, Pokepark 2 shuns the minigames into a separate play mode for a less diverse gameplay style. You play as one of four different Pokemon trying to rescue your Pokemon friends from being trapped forever in Wish Park. It amounts to a weird, cheesy story between legendary Pokemon that involves hypnotism and cake, which is way less interesting that it sounds when you look at the gameplay. There are two primary modes: Chase, and Battle. Chase Mode is just the player chasing another Pokemon, with a dash ability usable by shaking the Wiimote. Battle Mode is somewhat more interesting, involving pressing the 1 button on the Wiimote in different ways or shaking the Wiimote to launch attacks. These two modes, plus minigames and the occasional Quiz allow you to befriend other Pokemon, which is the primary objective of the game.

Aside from being really darn adorable, though, PokePark 2 offers nothing of interest regarding gameplay or story (like most of the most recent spin-offs), and thus remains utterly forgettable.
