Alexander Gustafsson

Currently the #2 UFC Light Heavyweight, Gustafsson has had a rough go of things since he was placed on the EA Sports UFC cover alongside Jon “Bones” Jones. Some scheduling conflicts resulted in a Jones/Gustafsson rematch of UFC 165 getting tossed, inevitably due to Gustafsson being injured at a time right for both athletes. He lost to Anthony Johnson on January 24, 2015, a long nine months after he last win against Jimi Manuwa in March of 2014. The loss came on the grounds of his homeland of Sweden.

Despite the loss, he was available to take on Daniel Cormier for the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship after Jon Jones vacated the title. After a long back-and-forth match, Gustafsson lost on a split decision. Gustafsson is now 1-3 in his last four bouts, winning just one match since the end of 2012. Another loss could put his UFC career at risk.
