Jon “Bones” Jones
Jon “Bones” Jones has lost just once in a UFC octagon. That was to Matt Hamill back in 2009, where he was disqualified for using illegal 12-6 elbow strikes. Since then, he has taken down fighters like Quinton “Rampage” Jackson, Lyoto Machida, Rashad Evans, Vitor Belfort, Chael Sonnen, Alexander Gustafsson and Daniel Cormier in their primes. He has defended a UFC Light Heavyweight Championship 8 times in a row. Inside the octagon, he is unstoppable.
Unfortunately for him, life exists outside of it.
After landing on the cover of EA Sports UFC (announced on December 13, 2013), his personal life has become a rocky road of misfortune. In April 0f 2014, Jon Jones’ Instagram account was used to respond to a troll from Sweden, calling him derogatory homophobic names. Jon Jones would later claim he got hacked. Earlier this year, before defeating Daniel Cormier to defend his Light Heavyweight title, Jones tested positive for cocaine, in which he entered rehab for one day and was fined by the UFC.
The worst of it all was that Jon Jones was arrested for felony leaving the scene of an accident after hitting a pregnant woman earlier this April. He would later get off easy with an 18-month supervised probation, handed down this September. It came after he was stripped of his UFC Light Heavyweight Championship, which now belongs to the one Daniel Cormier he defeated very early this year. He has since been reinstated in the UFC, but he has a bit of a way to go before he gets the chance to compete for the belt once again.
