National League Division Series: Los Angeles Dodgers (2) vs. New York Mets (3)

Los Angeles Dodgers

It was a combination of the old guard and the new that kept the Dodgers in this series. Joc Pederson and Corey Seager each knocked in 6 RBI, while the older bats were much in decline. No, it was the marvelous pitching performances by the Dodgers’ rotation that kept them in it. Grienke pitched a 2-hit shutout, while Brett Anderson took his one start’s no-hitter into the 6th inning. Clayton Kershaw was great in start #1, but start #4 saw him give up 6 ER, 8 hits and 4 walks in just 3.2 innings. His postseason curse may continue once again.

New York Mets

The Ny Mets, Apu’s favorite squadron, balanced the yips with bashing on the Dodgers’ bullpen. Most of their runs came in the 6th inning or later this series, as Yo knows how to score late in the game. His 5 RBI in those innings were clutch, as were David Wright’s 4 RBI in the final game of the series alone. Duda was an OBP machine, walking 5 times. Matt Harvey threw just 6 innings in his one start, but struck out 9. Bartolo Colon was the surprise stud, giving up just 2 ER and striking out 6 in 7 innings.

Final Result:

New York Mets 3 – Los Angeles Dodgers 1
