Vancouver Canucks

Oh dear.

If last year’s playoff finish was a pleasant surprise for the Canucks, this year brought them crashing back down to reality, as the Canucks missed out on the playoffs after finishing in fifth place in the division. No one had a particularly good season, despite Radim Vrbata’s respectful 19 goals and 20 assists.

The Sedins continued to sit among the top points scorers in the team, although they were unable to possess the same creativity that we have seen in previous years. Alex Burrows and Chris Higgins were non-existent, while Brandon Sutter also contributed very little.

Dan Hamhuis and Alex Edler had fairly good seasons, but the Canucks felt the loss of Kevin Bieksa, while Chris Tanev also suffered a frustrating year. Ryan Miller failed to impress with a GAA of 2.7 and a SV% of .909, and Jacob Markström didn’t fare any better.
