Detroit Red Wings

In a new era for the Red Wings, Jeff Blashill had an excellent start to his career in Detroit, leading the team to second place in the division. The key to the Red Wings’ success this year was centered around a fantastic overall team effort. Pavel Datsyuk still topped the points chart with 20 goals and 33 assists at the age of 37, but Henrik Zetterberg finished the season as top goalscorer with only 23 goals.

Niklas Kronwall, Gustav Nyquist, Darren Helm, Tomas Tatar and Justin Abdelkader all had excellent seasons, while the additions of Mike Green and Brad Richards ensured that the Red Wings’ depth ran even deeper this year.

Jimmy Howard had an excellent season in net, with a GAA of 2.2 and a SV % of .922. Petr Mrázek wasn’t called upon too often, sporting a GAA of 2.8 and a SV % of .913 for the season.
