The Follower

Likely new to the game, Followers don’t quite know what to do with themselves. So they do what would be a logical move in almost any other setting–they follow someone who looks confident and mimic them. Inevitably, at some point that someone is going to be you.

In Splatoon, however, this is the second most useless thing you can do (after being the D/Ced squid). Since the Follower doesn’t ink any new turf, he or she isn’t gaining any points for the team. Less ground is covered, and the enemy has two targets in one shot. If you’re being followed by one of these Inklings, try to force them to diverge, or swim ahead of them. They’ll find their own path sooner or later.
