E3 2015: Square Enix Predictions, Rumors & Expectations
By Martin Benn
Things I think we’ll see at the Square Enix briefing
I think Hitman may be making a return again. It has been 3 years since the last Hitman game. Outside of a mobile game, there has not been much else put in the way of Hitman from Square Enix. They are working on another movie for the series and they will likely want to pique interest a bit. I think we may see some more of Agent 47 in the future.
Kingdom Hearts is probably also going to get the HD Remaster treatment on PS4 and Xbox One the same way Final Fantasy X did. So I think we will see HD 1.5 and 2.5 announced for the PS4 and Xbox One. It seems a pretty safe bet Square Enix is going to continue in the vein of remasters for quite some time as long as they remain profitable.
Final Fantasy VII for PS4 was announced some time back, using a PC version of the game. I think we may see this in the Square or the Sony presser with a release date attached to its arrival. If I want to be really bold, I might even say that it is going to become available day and date of the press conference.
Sleeping Dogs was one of the first games to get a remaster for PS4 and Xbox One. Was the team sharpening their skills to release a proper sequel on the new consoles and PC? Time will only tell, but if they were then I think that we will see something of a slice from that game on the Square Enix stage.
