#7 – Enhanced Customization Features

A feature which will sit at the top of the list for many WWE fans is customization, which has become a key component to the series over the years. Even the very first Smackdown game enjoyed a detailed character creation suite. With the onset of time these features have been enhanced, culminating in WWE 2K14’s extensive feature set, which featured everything from character creation, entrances and moves, to the ability to create entire arenas, and even full stories.

WWE 2K15 on current-gen removed a large number of these features, causing a backlash from the community. It was no longer possible to create stories or arenas. Created character slots were heavily limited due to graphical limitations. Even entrances felt the pinch, with just one custom entrance animation available for created wrestlers.

2K have their work cut out for them this year. At the very least, they need to find a way to implement more custom character slots, with more entrance animations. We’d also like to see created arenas again.

The removal of custom entrance music last year was a big disappointment, but one which seems to be a limitation of the consoles themselves at this point, rather than the game. It really breaks the immersion when playing as wrestlers like Seth Rollins, who still comes out to The Shield’s music as he walks down the ramp. It remains to be seen whether the PS4 and Xbox One will be able to offer this ability for 2K16, although it is looking unlikely at this point.

In an ideal world, we want all of these features back. If that can’t be done, lets just hope 2K can prioritize the most important aspects of the customization set.
