Fans Beg Kojima and del Toro for Silent Hills in Petition
By Annie Lee
A petition to continue developing the Silent Hills game has appeared on Change.org.
The petition, written by Yauheni Zinkevic, asks Hideo Kojima and Guillermo del Toro to continue developing the game. It has approximately 57, 000 signatures at the time of this article.
Zinkevich writes, “[I]f the issue is money related, we would love to see a Crowdfunding campaign like Kickstarter to ensure you are getting all the financial help there is!”
The Silent Hills game was a collaboration between Konami, Hideo Kojima, and Guillermo del Toro. It was to star Norman Reedus of The Walking Dead as the voice for the protagonist.
After the demo P.T. was pulled from Playstation stores, rumours surfaced of Silent Hills’ cancelation. This was confirmed by Konami on Monday:
"Konami is committed to new Silent Hill titles, however the embryonic ‘Silent Hills’ project developed with Guillermo del Toro and featuring the likeness of Norman Reedus will not be continued."
On eBay, Playstation 4 consoles with P.T. installed have been selling for up to $1,200 USD.
