Our MLB 2015 Predictions Simulation From MLB 15: The Show
Kansas City Royals
Before last year, the Royals had the longest playoff draught. Now, in the 2015 MLB season, they are projected to make a return to October baseball, albeit just ever so slightly so with the wildcard. They have Yordano Ventura, Danny Duffy and Jason Vargas to thank, averaging a 3.12 ERA between them. They do not, however, want to thank the 5.35 ERA of Edinson Volquez, who somehow got 32 starts for the Royals. Jeremy Guthrie was Jeremy Guthrie, but Greg Holland was Greg Holland. The rest of the bullpen was garbage, especially between the 26 second pace of Jason Frasor on the mound.
As you’ve come to expect from this team (in Kauffman Stadium), power was not the trump card. It was speed on the basepaths, with Jarrod Dyson, Alex Rios and Alcides Escobar combining for 74 SB between them. Scraping a playoff appearance together was the name of the game, as players with 300-400 AB’s were commonplace this year. Only Alex Gordon and Salvador Perez were true untouchables, leading the team offensively and defensively. Also, the less said about Mike Moustakas’ .580 OPS, the better.
