New York Yankees

5th place. Ha.

Ha!

Justice aside, there were some fairly interesting pitching developments for the Yankees in the 2015 MLB season. First off, Masahiro Tanaka performed his expected “Tanak”-ing, with a 2.43 ERA, 5 Complete Games, 236.2 IP, 1.06 WHIP and struck out a whopping 259 batters. He was outshined by Adam Warren, however, due to sheer surprise factors. He posted a 2.89 ERA, had 23 Quality Starts, struck out 198 batters over 220 innings, walked just 57 and gave up the fewest home runs among Yankees starters (16). Considering they play in a joke stadium with short dimensions reminiscent of a clown show, that’s a great feat to accomplish!

Meanwhile, the offense really never clicked for the Yankees this year. Only 2 batters had more than 525 at-bats, and Garrett Jones’ .276 batting average was the team’s highest. BA is a fairly unimportant stat, but when the Yankees’ leading HR hitter (again, Jones) belted only 25 home runs a distance of over 314 paltry yards, you realise the offense had a bit of a down year. Considering the fact that Jacoby Ellsbury was third in home runs for the team (18 jacks), as well. Alex Rodriguez was ahead of him with 22 home runs and a .751 OPS, playing as a reminder the Yankees will spend $21 million on him this year.

Again; Ha!
