Our MLB 2015 Predictions Simulation From MLB 15: The Show
Los Angeles Angels
Despite a fastball that just edges closer to “slowball” as years go by, Jered Weaver has to pitch on pure guile, piss and vinegar these days. The 2015 MLB season simulation predicted great things from him, Tyler Skaggs and Garrett Richards, with Weaver’s 3.34 ERA, 215.2 innings, 2 shutouts and 186 strikeouts leading the team. Joe Smith’s closing season should not be overlooked, as his 0.97 ERA, 46 saves, 46 innings of work and 1.03 WHIP seems almost alien in nature.
Josh Hamilton only played 104 games in MLB 15: The Show, which may come true due to both his injury status and his respect among Angels Front Office. Despite a despicable attempt at the Angels to try to scrimp and save money through his contract by playing a false “moral guardian” card when it comes to getting him suspended for substance abuse, Hamilton’s diminished time still led him to bash in 20 home runs, 72 RBI and .807 OPS. Good for him.
Mike Trout is still the best player in baseball, showcasing all five of his tools. He stole 20 bases, based 28 home runs, slugged at a .563 clip, scored a .976 OPS and was defensive (pinball) wizard. Albert Pujols, meanwhile, struggled to get to the levels of play he’s seen in the past, while draining the Angels dry. Also, Matt Kemp somehow ended up on the Angels, sporting a .883 OPS with 141 strikeouts to boot. Swinging and missing to success follows him, apparently.
