Killing Floor 2 Gameplay: How Hard Is ‘Hell on Earth’ Difficulty?

PC Gamer recently got their hands on Killing Floor 2, and are showcasing just how hard the “Hell on Earth” difficulty can be.

The PC Gamer crew were joined by Tripwire Interactive President John Gibson, and Creative Director Bill Munk as they faced “Hell on Earth” difficulty on the map “Paris”. I won’t say exactly how far they managed to make it, but let’s just say it didn’t turn out well.

The video is a great showcase of not only the difficulty of the game, but its ascetics. Between the meaty gun sounds, streaks of glistening fire, and small details like the charring of player skins, the game dwarfs its 2009 predecessor in both look and feel. The gameplay shown however, has a very familiar set of mechanics to the original Killing Floor. Hopefully Killing Floor 2 will do enough to differentiate itself from the first game, which was fun but easily became repetitive.

The release date for Killing Floor 2 has not yet been given, but is scheduled for release sometime in 2015 on PC, Linux, and PS4.
