AOL might be shutting down the gaming news website Joystiq as part of its large-scale reorganization. The news was first reported by Recode and followed by Kotaku. The discussion moved over to Twitter, with many commenters on Joystiq‘s website wondering about the authenticity of the rumors.

Susan Arendt, Managing Editor of Joystiq, commented on Twitter by linking to the website’s article:

Joystiq started in 2004 and it became a part of AOL a year later, with Engadget and Autoblog. Current editor-in-chief, Ludwig Kietzmann, has been leading the website after Chris Grant left in 2011 to found Polygon.

There have been no confirmed reports from AOL.
